MUSICAL FEATURES

Grainity brings a new and unique concept to the analog VCF world.Although the audio path is based on fully analog filtering, Grainity simultaneously creates subharmonics, harmonies, unisons, flanging effects, and formant filtering to expand and enrich the sound.

This module includesGranular filterand typicalMultimode filterThere are two sections, each with its own output. The third output provides a mix of both filter passes. Numerous controls and CVs allow for a very wide range of results.

  • Unique granular VCF concept
  • 100% analog audio path
  • Two simultaneous filter flows and separate outputs for granular VCF and multimode VCF
  • Ability to mix the outputs of both filters into a dedicated output
  • Allows phase-reversal switching between two filters
  • Shared frequency and resonance control
  • Multimode filter with various types and poles
  • Self-oscillation function
  • Granular filter with unique controls:
o Structure selection from predefined list
o Split to increase grain length
o Phase setting of cycle points
o Cycle tracking and offset adjustment
  • Detection input for cycling separate from audio input
  • 7 CV inputs
  • Retains current settings through power cycles
  • Firmware update using a simple audio file

What is granular filtering?

Grainity's granular filter section always sends incoming audio to a built-in analog filter. However, there is a filter that is passed every time the voltage of the input waveform crosses 0V.-Create a tone by changing the type and sequencing. Since the filter type keeps changing at the audio rate,Like a general filter that cuts some frequency.I can't hear it, and if anything, it increases the overtones,Suitable for creating glitchy sounds.

The combination of filters that are stepped is called a Structure, and it is also possible to change and control CV. Basically, a step advances at each zero crossing of the waveform, but by raising the Phase/Freq knob at the top left of the panel, you can shift the step timing from the zero crossing, or by turning on the Track button, you can change the timing to be measured digitally instead of at the zero crossing. It is also possible to determine the step cycle from the pitch of the input signal and shift it using the Phase/Freq knob at the top left.
