Converter that converts -12V rail current to +5V
In stock. Orders made by 15:XNUMX will be shipped the same day

MUSICAL FEATURES

Klavis Nodrain is a voltage converter for Eurorack power supplies that do not have a dedicated 5V supply.A highly efficient switching power supply circuit allows the adapter to perform conversions at megahertz frequencies well above the audible range, drawing its own power from the -12V rail and consuming only half the current to deliver up to 1 amp of 5V (Circuit thermal protection may reduce available current under very high temperature conditions, such as in a sealed case in hot climates).

  • Delivers accurate 1V up to 5 amp
  • Deploys own power supply from unused -12V rail
  • -Highly efficient conversion using only about half the current of 12 rails
  • Soft start mechanism prevents inrush current when power is turned on
  • Compatible with wide voltage fluctuations of 12V power supply
  • 20x28mm miniature design
  • Adjustable output voltage
  • Various protection circuits for overload current, input overvoltage, overheating, etc.

HOW TO USE

Do not use Nodrain if the following conditions apply:

  • When your case already has 5V available. In this case you must first disable/disconnect the 5V source.
  • When the case's -12V rail is already supplying maximum current.
  • There is a plan to consume 5V power supply at 1A or more (or less if the temperature is high).Connecting separate Nodrains to multiple bus boards is fine as long as the 5V supplies do not overlap.
How to install

Incorrect installation of Nodrain may cause damage to other equipment. Please follow the steps below to install correctly.

  1. Turn off the power to the case and remove the power cable and AC adapter.
  2. Plug the Nodrain adapter into the bus board of your case.It is best to choose a connector that is close to the cable that supplies power to the bus board.
  3. Please be careful about the direction of insertion.Install the bus board and adapter correctly so that their red stripes and -12V markings match.
  4. Check again that the bus board connector and adapter are not misaligned by one pin.
  5. Check everything again before connecting the power cable or AC adapter.
  6. In the unlikely event that a problem occurs, prepare to quickly turn off the main power, and then turn on the power.
