Aikido is a high-performance, 4-channel linear VCA mixer with flexible submix routing and envelope followers.
Thoughtful internal normalization and patching allow you to go beyond the basics of VCAs and mixers to experiment with sidechain compressors, expanders, and a variety of other routings.
A clickless MUTE switch and level fader are perfect for live performances, and attenuverters on each channel enable the Aikido to function as a powerful and flexible quad VCA. The main mix output can be cascaded mix routed, and the sidechain envelope follower can provide three different response curves. Additionally, the spectral follower allows you to obtain a response envelope that focuses on the highs, mids, and lows. Since the VCA is DC coupled, it can also be used for any CV modulation routing.
AIKIDO has a fader that can boost 6dB and a mute switch, and each input signal (audio signal or CV signal) can be mixed and output. By cascading two AIKIDO units, it is possible to mix 2ch x 4 = 2ch. You can also chain BUDDY (stereo mixer) to create an even more convenient mixing environment inside the Eurorack case.
