MUSICAL FEATURES

Instruo Cruinn is an analog stereo oscillator with thru-zero phase modulation for creating deep animated textures.

In addition to a single sawtooth oscillator core, Cruinn generates 5 parallel, out-of-phase sawtooth wave variations. Each of these is controlled by its own internal triangle wave LFO.
With onboard and external voltage control over the LFO period and modulation depth, Cruinn quickly creates supersaws, lush pads, fazy basses, or chaotic effects with six waveforms.

And with the included passive 4HP expander, you get access to all six waveforms. This adds the ability to individually dephase each waveform via CV.

  • Equipped with stereo output and summation output
  • 6 out-of-phase sawtooth wave variations
  • Built-in 5 triangular wave LFOs
  • Global Rate & Depth modulation control
  • Built-in stereo VCA
  • Linear FM & Exponential FM
  • LFO mode
  • Comes with a 4HP expander

Overview: sequencer or keyboardCruinnto trigger the envelope generator at the same time. The envelope generator's CV output opens the filter and VCA, allowing Cruinn's signal to pass.To create a more traditional East Coast patch, use separate envelope generators for the filter and VCA.

Audio path:

  • so that the module oscillates at audio rates,LFOSet the switch to the up position.
  • so that a waveform is output from each output,LevelRaise the knob to a value around 9:00.
  • Sigma(Σ)Patch the output to the filter's audio input.
  • Patch the filter's audio output to the VCA's audio input.
  • Monitor the VCA's audio output.
  • CoarseFinishUse the knob to set the base frequency to your desired position.
  • Set the cutoff frequency and resonance of the filter to any position.
  • Set VCA gain to minimum value if applicable.

Control pathway:

  • 1V/Oct output of sequencer or keyboard1V / OctPatch the input.
  • Patch the gate output of your sequencer or keyboard to the trigger input of the envelope generator.
  • Patch multiple envelope generator CV outputs.
  • Connect one copy of the envelope CV signal to the filter's CV input and set the corresponding CV attenuator to the desired position.
  • Connect a second copy of the envelope signal to the VCA's CV input and set the corresponding CV attenuator to the desired position.
  • Set each stage of the envelope to the desired position.
