As its name suggests, Erica Synths Black DJ VCF is a voltage controllable filter module that offers features inspired by filters commonly found in DJ decks and DJ mixers.
The filter is fully open when the cutoff knob is set at 12:00.Turning it counter-clockwise applies low-pass filtering, turning it clockwise applies high-pass filtering.It also has a resonance control.It offers manual control over the sound during a performance as well as non-traditional tonal modulations that are difficult with traditional state variable filters. The Black DJ VCF is a fully analog design and consists of two VCFs (highpass and lowpass).Other features are as follows.
