BASTL INSTRUMENTS "TIMBER" is a "wave shaping module" that is flexible and full of creativity.

TIMBER has two different wave shaping circuits (wave driver circuit and wave folder circuit), which can be mixed (also mixed with the original sound) using a CV-controlled crossfade circuit. You can create rich and complex harmonics by inputting simple waveforms such as triangle waves and sine waves, as well as various signals.

The SHAPE control adjusts the input amplifier gain, and the SYMMETRY adds a voltage offset to the input signal to create a wide variety of asymmetric overdrive and wave-folded sounds. Also, when a positive voltage is input to the FBK CV terminal, the output signal is fed back to the input, resulting in a chaotic and aggressive sound.

The I.WAVE DRIVER is an overdrive circuit with a folding stage and two 2-way switches (3 different combinations possible). The DRIVE switch can be set to SOFT/HARD, or anything in between. The FOLD switch allows you to set the folding threshold to HI/LO, and the intermediate NO position also allows you to disable the folding stage.

II.WAVE FOLDER is a "SERGE style" wave folding circuit that creates rich high frequency tones using the SHAPE parameter. With the FOLD switch in the OK position, you can select 4 stages of wave folding, in the KO position you can select an asymmetrical folding stage with a mysterious metallic character, and in the NO position you can select only the overdrive folding stage, allowing you to vary various characters and harmonic components. can.

Wave shaping circuits share the same CV. X-FADE, SYMMETRY, and SHAPE can be modulated from an external CV source, allowing you to create dynamically moving sounds.
