Timiszaoara is a voltage-controllable stereo multi-effects processor for Eurorack. The Spin Semiconductor's FV-1 open architecture in use allows you to add custom-designed effect / feature algorithms, organize them into virtual cartridges on microSD cards, and use them in library format.
In normal operation, it is currently loaded by turning the encoder.Up to 8Select an effect program from the program bank.
The program is only loaded by clicking on the encoder to confirm your selection.By pressing and holding the encoder for 1 second, each folder displays the contents of the memory card as a list of folders corresponding to one bank.
At the end of the list there is a cancel option that you can select to return to the last loaded bank.Confirm your selection by clicking on the encoder. If no SD card is inserted in the slot, the available options areSPIN DEMOとCANCELThere are only two. SPIN DEMO, the built-in bank of the Spin chip, is also available from the card inserted in the module. The programs included in this bank are not special, but they are useful in an emergency such as a defective or lost memory card.
A specific bank is selected and confirmed by clicking the encoder to load the bank into memory. You can also remove the card to access all eight programs in the loaded bank.
The three parameters of the selected effect program can be manual or each correspondingPARAMIt can be controlled by a CV patched to the input jack located above the slider.A voltage of 10Vpp can be input to these CV inputs, and the parameters will be swept in the full range when an LFO of ± 5V is received with the slider set to the center position.Similarly, with the slider set to the minimum value, a 10V envelope can be applied to sweep the parameters in the full range.MIXWith a sliderCV inputThe same rules apply to.
To select a program from the current bank, use a rotary encoder or use an external CV or trigger signal.NEXTThe trigger signal patched to the input works the same as operating the encoder clockwise and clicking. This will load the next program in the list and confirm it automatically. This list is arranged in a loop so that after the 8th, it returns to the 1st.SCANBy patching the voltage to the input, you can shift back and forth (to the next or previous program) from the currently loaded program. This SCAN input accepts voltages in the range -5V to + 8V and switches to a position above or below the current position with every 1V change.
NOTE: The FV-1 chip takes a little time to load a new program and reinitialize it, so it cannot scan the program instantly.
Timiszoara allows you to add effect programs using the factory card that came with your module, or another card.Format your new card to FAT16 or FAT32.Effects must be written in the assembly language of the FV-1 chip, or visually designed using SpinCAD Designer and compiled in binary format (for example, using the ASFV1 compiler). Also, considering hardware restrictions, the number of instructions in each program should be 128 or less, the internal registers should be 32 or less, and the delay memory should be 32768 words or less.
NOTE: Clockface and Xaoc Devices do not provide technical support for third-party software.
In Timiszoara, each compiled binary (a bank of eight programs) is placed in a separate folder with the same name, with the names of all eight programs and their three parameter names separated by commas. The text file (without spaces) must be associated.
Each effect program can contain three PARAM sliders and up to three parameters controlled by the corresponding CV input. The bank name and each parameter name should be up to 3 characters long. When preparing a custom file for Timiszoara, it's a good idea to follow the structure and naming rules of the factory file.
The microSD card that comes with Timiszoara has a factory program that covers various effects such as delay / reverb / modulation / filter / pitch shifter / distortion / glitch / stutter. Many of these effects consist of two nearly independent signal paths and are performed in stereo. However, some effects benefit from using a single signal path for most resources. In such cases, the program downmixes the stereo signal to monaural before performing any processing.Note that the total memory of the FV-2 chip only allows a delay of 1 second, so it must be split between channels. Also, some of the included combo programs have different effects for each channel.
With the planned release expander, you can add two feedback loops with CPU clock control and a tone processor.
