MUSICAL FEATURES

The design goal for Sealegs was to create a delay module that would give any audio the warmest, most musical, and organic sound possible. To achieve this, we modeled the acoustic characteristics of three different types of delay circuits— tape , BBD , and crossfade digital— and made them switchable.

It is possible to create a wide variety of delay sounds with complete control necessary for delay, numerous modulation waveforms, and timbre creation with filters, color control, overdrive, etc.It also features a reroutable reverb, designed for traditional "spatial" effects like dub echo for synth final stages and sends.

  • Delay time up to 6 seconds (L channel) and 8 seconds (R channel, because Width can increase Time by 33%)
  • 9 CV inputs (with attenuverter), one of which isCan be assigned
  • Stable external clock sync (or tap tempo)
  • 96kHz, 32-bit stereo floating point processing

How To Use

Sealegs is a digital module, but it features an extremely intuitive and easy-to-understand interface with no menus. The sliders on the panel are arranged as follows: the left slider controls the delay operation, the middle slider controls the modulation, and the right slider controls the tone, including color and filter. Each parameter can also be controlled by CV via the jacks on the top with attenuators.

You can switch between 3 types of modes that are key to the tone with the MODE switch. The Color parameter controls the intensity of that timbre's character. Color degrades the sound musically in any mode, but how it degrades differs from mode to mode and is characteristic of the mode.

  • tapeMode is a vintage tape echo emulation, Color controls tape degradation
  • BBDThe mode is an emulation of a bucket bridge-style delay, and the color controls the strength of the BBD-specific sound deterioration and clock instability.
  • Digital The mode is an emulation of a vintage digital delay, and the degree of digital deterioration such as bit rate and sample rate reduction is controlled by Color. No pitch change when changing delay time in digital mode
