MUSICAL FEATURES

Parallax is a stereo filter module that offers a classic sound, a simple interface, and a wide range of sound shaping possibilities through flexible parameter modulation.

Based on the legendary 80s Sequential Pro-One, the Parallax stereo filter output stage, improved for modern applications, features both traditional -24dB/oct and -12dB/oct outputs. This allows it to produce both the powerful sound of a 4-pole filter and the bright, smooth sound of a 2-pole filter.

Patch Ideas

Stereo Audio Rate FM

Input an oscillator into the F. skew CV and use the attenuator to find your preferred sound. FM1 and FM2 are also available, allowing for further modulation with LFOs and envelopes. You can obtain FM sounds with different audio rates from -24dB/oct and -12dB/oct outputs.

Pinging the Filter

The Parallax responds wonderfully to pinging from trigger or gate signals. Set the FREQ knob to approximately 12 o'clock and the RES knob to approximately 2 o'clock, then patch the trigger or gate signal to the signal input. Fine-tune the tone with the FREQ knob and the length of the ping with the RES knob. All CV inputs remain available as usual even while pinging, but higher resonance settings eliminate gaps between ping sounds. Both -12dB/oct and -24dB/oct produce good ping sounds, but the -12dB/oct output is brighter and has a more classic West Coast sound.

Self-Patching Mayhem

Utilizing Parallax's two pairs of outputs and abundant CV inputs, you can obtain chaotic and unstable filter sounds by self-patching unused outputs to CV inputs.
