MUSICAL FEATURES

Stereo VCFQ is a stereo version of Serge's iconic Variable Q filter (VCFQ).

As described in the 1983 catalog, the Variable Q VCF (VCFQ) was an exceptionally versatile VCF, featuring simultaneous low-pass, high-pass, and band-pass outputs. The filter's resonance (Q) could be varied dynamically, either manually or via voltage control. Each input had a level control, allowing for the percussive effects that could be achieved by overdriving the filter.

Applying a pulse to the Trigger input causes the filter to resonate, producing a damped waveform similar to that produced when striking a resonant object. The nature of this resonance is controlled by the Q and filter frequency. A wide variety of percussive effects can be generated and controlled, from clicks to woodblock or bell-like sounds. This resonance effect can be used to obtain complex, highly controlled, pitched timbres.

The AUX IN is mixed with both input channels (without attenuation), making it ideal for adding a mono signal.
