Random*Source Serge Smooth and Stepped Generator (SSG) [USED:W0]

USED
¥51,900 (Tax excluded ¥47,182)
Serge's leading swiss army knife module that combines through and sample & hold to perform various processing of CV and audio

Format: Eurorack
Width: 18HP
Depth: 25mm
Current: 35mA @ + 12V, 30mA @ -12V, 0mA @ + 5V

To protect the original signal voltage range of Serge, the signal handled by Random * Source Serge is smaller than the standard Eurorack module, which is 5V at Peak to Peak.It is not as small as the line level, but when using it with other companies' products, pass it through a signal booster or attenuator as needed.

MUSICAL FEATURES

SSG (Smooth & Stepped Generator) is a patch-programmable composite multifunction module that provides various through and sample functions for audio and CV, and is one of the essential modules of the Serge system.

The Smooth section applies positive pass-through , which is effective only when the input voltage is increasing, and negative pass-through , which is effective only when the input voltage is decreasing , creating lag effects such as VC portamento and low-frequency filtering. In cycle mode (equivalent to self-patching from CYCLE to IN), which can be switched with the CYCLE switch, a VC triangle LFO with an operating range of less than 1Hz to approximately 4kHz is generated, which is convenient for reprocessing. To hold the output CV, patch a high gate to the HOLD input ( track and hold ). The CYCLE jack outputs a pulse signal corresponding to the cycle period.

The Stepped section can be used as a sample and hold with CV-controllable slew-rate limiting . Unlike the Smooth section, this section does not generate a signal by simply operating the CYCLE switch (the LED remains off). To activate the Stepped generator, input a pulse signal to the SAMPLE jack (such as the CYCLE output of the Smooth section). This generates a complex, stepped waveform that can be used as a CV or audio signal.

The Coupler is an internal comparator that compares the output levels of the Smooth and Stepped generators to generate complex CVs or random voltages. The EXPO switch on each generator creates an exponential slope shape by internally feeding the output back into Rise and Fall modulation.
