Neuzeit Instrument Orbit is a powerful sound design tool that transforms all kinds of sounds into something new.A bit crusher that can be inverted in bit units, a harmonizer that can add up to 5 voices, a continuously variable -12dB / Oct multi-mode filter, an envelope generator that can also operate as an LFO, and an analog that controls Dry / Wet. Orbit's interfaces are organized in the order of signal paths and by related controls in an easy-to-understand graphic on the panel, and basically one operation knob is assigned to each function. The signal paths other than the CRSH stage, which is processed by the AD / DA converter, are completely analog, and all inputs are designed to be DC coupled.

CRSH --bitcrusher

The input signal to Orbit passes through an input mixer with an independent VCA, a Bass equalizer that controls low frequencies with a single knob, and then flows to the bit crusher (CRSH) stage. The CRSH stage interprets the analog signal from the Bass EQ as an 8-bit or 12-bit binary representation, samples it digitally with a sampling frequency of 50Hz to 38kHz, and then outputs the downsampled signal as an analog signal. Orbit allows you to invert or mute individual bits of this binary representation.This allows for flexible wave shaping and sound design with harmonics added that maintain multiples of the base frequency.

The sampling frequency is determined by the RATE control and CV modulation. The RATE CV input has a dedicated attenu barter. When the SYNC function is enabled, the sampling frequency is proportional to the fixed basic frequency of the total input signal, and the RATE parameter follows the pitch of the input signal, so the effect on the timbre of the sample rate reduction depends on the frequency of the input signal. lose.

The affected bits can be changed via Orbit's secondary feature layer, which can be accessed by pressing and holding the SYNC button.In the default setting, the four buttons in the CRCH determine the interpretation of bits 2 to 4, but in the secondary setting, the four buttons affect bits 1, 4, 2 + 4, and 2, 3, 4. HARM --Ocsillators
