Just Friends is a polyphonic slope (function) generator that can generate 6 voltage flows at the same time. The output slope can be used as an envelope, LFO, or oscillator by globally changing the operating time or voltage range with a switch. Each output can be independently triggered or gated, but the waveform parameters (Ramp and Curve) are common, and the 6 slope speeds (determined by TIME and INTONE) move in relation to each other. .
Sound/Shapeスイッチによって動作する時間や電圧のレンジが変わります。Soundモードの時は10Hz〜6200Hz(CVも使うと1秒〜24kHz)で電圧は-5V〜5V、Shapeモードの時は4秒〜160Hz(CV使用で30秒〜2500Hz)で電圧が0〜8Vです。
The other switch is the Transient / Sustain / Cycle switch that switches the waveform trigger mode. The following uses are possible for each mode.
-
Polyphonic envelope (in Shape + Transient or Shape + Sustain mode): In Transient mode, each slope activates the corresponding envelope once with an independent trigger input. All triggers received during envelope activation are ignored and not retriggered regardless of attack or decay. In Sustain mode, the envelope is sustained at 1% height while the input gate is on, and decays (releases) after it is off.
Since the trigger input is internally connected to the input on the left, it is easy to activate multiple envelopes at the same time. Since the speed of 6 outputs can be controlled in common, it will be easy to use for polyphonic patches. It can also be used for a spectral processor that has a gain CV for each band
-
6-output LFO (in Shape + Cycle mode): In Cycle mode, the attack-> decay envelope is repeated to form an LFO, and each trigger input resets the LFO start. From fading to clock divide, you can change the association between channels smoothly and boldly
-
Harmonic oscillator that outputs up to the 6th harmonic (in Sound + Cycle mode):In Cycle mode and Sound mode, the waveform repeats at the audio rate, so it becomes an oscillator. Turn Intone all the way to the right, and the 6 outputs will be the 1st, 2nd, 3rd ... 6th harmonics. When Intone is in the middle, all 6 have the same frequency, and turning it slightly to the left and right will create a detuned unison. Since each trigger input is a cycle reset, it becomes a hard sync input (glitch).
In this way, in addition to switching modes, thanks to unique features such as Intone, non-retriggered property, internal connection of trigger input, Intone FM, etc., extremely flexible control is possible in each mode, and patching is possible. Expand the possibilities of.
And
Run inputBy patching to, you can add more powerful functions such as the following, which are different for each mode. CV to Run controls parameters specific to additional functionality.
-
Shape / Transient (Shift: Control of non-trigger time) -While the envelope is rising, the time that is not retriggered is from the start of the envelope to a certain time, and Run controls the end time. (When not patched to Run, it is not retriggered until the end of the envelope, corresponding to Run = 5V)
-
Shape / Sustain (Strata: Sustain level control) Patching Run to make the envelope an ADSR type and Run controls the sustain level
-
Shape / Cycle (Volley: Control of burst count) By patching Run, each output becomes a burst generator, and each output will cycle for the number of times set in Run and stop.
-
At the time of Sound / Transient (Spill: Control of non-retrigger time of 2N or more) Triggers another slope each time the Identity completes its cycle. It controls the time zone that cannot be retriggered like the Shift control.
-
Sound / Sustain (Plume: LPG response control) Each time a trigger is received, the output will output the Cycle oscillator sound, with the simulated LPG gated sound. The characteristics of the decay and envelope response of the sound change depending on the Run
-
During Sound / Cycle (Floom: FM modulator pitch control) The oscillator of each channel can receive FM from the virtual secondary oscillator (modulator) prepared separately. The FM attenuator becomes the index control. Run controls the frequency of the virtual oscillator in the range of 1/2 to 2 times the carrier oscillator (oscillator of each channel)
