The three main channels have exponential response characteristics suitable for audio processing, but the signal paths are all designed with DC coupling and can also process CV.
The most notable Mix 3 is the three CV inputs. These allow voltage control of the signal level of each channel, but the amplification reaches + 3db beyond unity gain. When using the CV input, the knob of each channel acts as an attenuator for the CV.
Mix 3 clips symmetrically, producing a pure overdrive sound that contains only odd harmonics. It will also work like a triple VC distortion.
At the bottom of the module is a fourth signal input labeled D IN, which, like the main 4 channels, also has a DC coupling specification, but the waveform of the input signal here is inverted and mixed. ..The adjacent LEVEL input CV controls the final output level of the module.
Moreover, the final output level can select -20db by the jumper on the back of the module, and it enables a direct connection to a line level device.
