This module is intended for use with software that outputs CV from the audio interface ADAT.
Please note that our store does not sell or support such software.
This module is ideal for modular control from a PC. When the control voltage is output from the ADAT output of your audio interface using Silent Way or Max / MSP, it can be converted into an analog voltage. (ES-6
(The reverse is possible)
In addition to the clock for synchronization, the Silent Way plug-in can generate various signals such as quantized pitch CVs and triggers, and complex LFOs. Also, if the latency compensation of the audio interface is fine, the synchronization with the DAW is guaranteed in sample units, so the timing is tight. By sending the signal directly in this way, you can achieve more precise and wider control than MIDI even when using a PC.
CV output method from PC
The voltage signal generated by the Silent Way plug-in or other software can be output from the audio interface, but some models cannot output CV from the analog output. Which audio interface can be usedhere
Please see. Most of the MOTUs are OK, but RME only supports headphone out, so there are some variations. We have confirmed the operation with MOTU 828mk3.
If you use an audio interface that has been confirmed as compatible on the above page, you can use the signal from the analog output modularly without using the ES-3. In that case, it is recommended to use a floating ring cable so that the analog output cable will not damage the audio interface, so please purchase that.
However, when using the analog output, in addition to the output terminal of the audio being crushed, there are disadvantages such as the output value of the output voltage is a little small. Therefore, in the case of an audio interface with ADAT, you can output CV or audio with ADAT and convert it to analog with ES-3 to output a higher voltage and output up to eight signals.Silent Way can be used if there is an audio interface with ES-3 and ADAT output
Recommended for hybrid styles that use both PC and modular.
