MUSICAL FEATURES

SISM is a signal processor module that has 4 channels of functions to scale and shift (offset) CV or audio signals.

Each channel operates independently, and each channel has an input jack, output jack, scale knob, and shift knob.

At the bottom of SISM, there are four outputs that produce a mixed signal of four signals in various ways, which is useful for generating various signals. EspeciallySliceThe output is unique.

Scale knob

The "Scale" knob is used to reduce or increase the gain of the signal. The gain change range can be selected from the following three for each channel by setting the jumper on the "SCALE" pin on the back side.
  • Bi-Polar mode: Gain is 0 at the center of the Scale knob, and the signal will not pass. The setting is such that turning it all the way to the left will multiply the signal by -1 (just top and bottom will be reversed), and turning it all the way to the right will multiply the signal by 1. This is the default setting.
  • Uni-Polar mode: When the knob is turned all the way to the left, the gain is 0, and the signal does not pass. When turned all the way to the right, the gain is 1x. This is the setting when the jumper is off.
  • 2X Uni-Polar Mode: Turning the knob all the way to the left will result in a gain of 0 and will not let the signal through, turning it all the way to the right will increase the gain.x2The settings are as follows. When the knob is in the center, the gain is 1x.

This can be done by removing the jumper on the SCALE pin and connecting the bottom pin to ground. Since the lower pins of the header such as INS, OUTS, and PADBO are the ground, use the open one among those pins as the ground for connecting.

Shift knob

The shift knob can add or subtract voltage from the voltage signal that passes through the scale knob. This function is also called DC offset. Turning the knob to the right of the center will add the voltage, and turning the knob to the left of the center will subtract the voltage. The range of the shift knob is ± 9.5V. In addition, since the output voltage range of SISM is ± 11.4V, it may exceed this ± 11.4V range depending on the shift setting, but in that case, the voltage will stick to the ceiling ± 11.4V,clippingTo do. This clipping can also be effectively used when processing CV and audio.

Mix outputs

The lower MIX / MIX (SW) /-SLICE / + SLICE output outputs a signal that combines the output signals of the four channels.
  • MIX Output: Outputs a mixed signal of the output signals of 4 channels.
  • MIX (SW) output: Outputs a signal that mixes only the signals that are not patched to the individual output jacks among the four channels.
  • + Slice / -Slice Outputs: The + Slice output outputs the positive part of the mix output signal, and the -Slice output outputs the negative part.
