The Leveling EQ Amplifier is an audio processor designed to be placed at the end of a patch, on individual sounds, a stereo bus, or a master bus, to finish off the overall sound.

Inspired by the simple operation and pleasing sound of the LA-2A optical compressor and 1073 EQ, classic mixing equipment, the LEQA combines a compressor, equalizer, and modern wide stereo processor into a 14HP unit.

Rather than a fully parametric EQ, it employs pre-defined EQ curves and frequency selections, designed for intuitive mixing. High-quality sound can be achieved with minimal adjustments.

The compressor section replicates optical compression. While this is a very simple mechanism, it produces a highly musical compression effect.

The EQ section is designed to enhance the presence and vibrancy of the mix, clean up any muddiness, and improve overall headroom.

The wide stereo processor adjusts the stereo image. It can restore a stereo sound that is too wide to a more cohesive sound, or widen a normal stereo signal to a level that could be called "super stereo." Furthermore, for mono sources, it can create a natural stereo effect by combining multiple psychoacoustic techniques.

The Leveling EQ Amplifier is versatile enough for a wide range of uses, from live performances and studio production to subtle tone correction, bold sound shaping, "gluing" the entire patch together for a cohesive sound, and even as a powerful effect.
