MUSICAL FEATURES

Warps is a compact and powerful processor module that takes two audio signals (called a carrier and a modulator) and creates a new audio signal with various cross-modulations.Internal oscillatorYou can also use By inputting a simple oscillator sound, it can be changed to a digital complex oscillator sound.

Modulation method (algorithm) Can also be controlled by CV, and when the algorithm changesMorphing continuouslyTo do. There are seven algorithms in total, and they change continuously with the main large knob.
  • cross fade: Two input signals can be output by crossfading.
  • Cross folding: After the carrier and modulator are mixed, a small amount of cross modulation is added and output through the wave folder.
  • Analog modeling / Diode ring modulation: A signal that digitally emulates the function of an analog circuit called ring modulation → diode clipping is output. Timbre controls the gain of the output signal, and also controls the amount of timbre change due to diode clipping.
  • Digital ring modulation: Ring modulation is milder than diode ring modulation. The sound is similar to the analog ring modulation based on AD633. Timbre controls the gain of the output signal and the amount of timbre change due to soft clipping.
  • XOR bit manipulation: Converts each of the two input signals to a 16-bit number and performs an XOR operation (exclusive OR).
  • Compare operation: Generates a tone by comparing the minus part of the carrier signal with the modulator signal, outputting the signal with the smaller absolute value, etc. The logic of these comparisons can be morphed by the Timber control.
  • Vocoders: Performs digital emulation of a 20-band vocoder. The envelope of the gain change per band of the carrier signal is applied to the gain change per band of the modulator. Timber controls the strength of this application. All three marks on the right side Of the algorithm knob correspond to the vocoder. The more you turn the knob to the right, the longer the release time of the envelope. The more you turn it to the right, the moment the modulator signal freezes.

DEMO

This demo uses only the standard Doepfer A-110 oscillator as the external input oscillator (only the second half of the vocoder also uses TV audio). Very wide sound can be produced.

This is a simple demo using Synthesis Technology E350 as input.
