A full-fledged distortion module for modular synths
MUSICAL FEATURES
TRSHMSTR is a distortion module for a modular synth consisting of a bandpass filter (FLTR) and drive (DRV) section. FLTR and DRV can be used together or independently.
The outputs of the FLTR and DRV sections are internally connected to the other input, so you can patch the FLTR input and DRV output to take out the processed signal in series with FLTR → DRV. If you patch the input of DRV and the output of FLTR, it will process DRV → FLTR. If you patch both the inputs and outputs of each section, the internal connections will disappear and the FLTR and DRV will process totally different signals.
FLTRIs a resonant bandpass filter with three types of feedback that can be switched with a switch. It's tuned for vintage wah wah movements.
DRVIs roughly inspired by the old Tube Screamer design, but tuned for optimal sound over a wider frequency range and modular level. There are two switches, HPF is the setting of the high pass filter attached to the input. The original Tube Screamer is set to the bottom position. The upper position passes the lowest bass as it is. Also, the feeling of overtones and compression changes depending on the FLAVOR.
FLTR frequency and resonance, DRV GAIN and TONE can be controlled by voltage, and you can also add the movement and modulation unique to modular to distortion sounds.
