MUSICAL FEATURES

Welcome to the WMD Performance Mixer MKII - 8 years after the release of the MKI, the MKII has been further improved based on the valuable feedback we received.

Compared to the MK I, there are further improvements in sound quality and reduced noise bleed, panning/crossfader switching, overall modularization through channel strips, improved operability by placing all jacks on the left, output of controller movements via MIDI, and further expandability.

The following expanders will be released:

  • DB25 expander/Direct Out Expander: For each channelExpander that provides individual outs. The lineup includes two types: a DB25 expander with D-Sub balanced output, and a Direct Outs expander with 3.5mm unbalanced output. EitherIt is now possible to extract both pre- and post-fader signals.
  • Returns Expander: Adds an Aux stereo return that is partially missing on the main unit.
  • Channels Expander: Expands 4 stereo inputs. Can also operate as a standalone mixer. Connect up to 1 units to a single Performance Mixer MKII and handle up to 4 stereo inputs.

Features

  • 8 stereo or dual mono inputs
  • 2 stereo aux outputs
  • Main/Secondary mix bus (AND/OR assignment)
  • Balanced master output in 3.5mm TRS
  • Soft mute on each channel
  • Stereo cue mix bus (TRS output jack)
  • 3.5mm headphone jack with DJ style cue/mix pot
  • Improved maintainability by channel stripping
  • Expandable to up to 24 stereo channels using an expander
  • CV control of pan, level, Aux1, Aux2
  • The MIDI output sends movements including pan, level, and Aux1 and Aux2 CV, allowing you to capture the mix in your DAW.
  • Pre/post fader balanced DB25 or unbalanced 3.5mm direct outs
  • Always saves settings and status on power-up
  • Input gain: -12dB to +20dB (line level boost possible)
  • Fader gain: -100dB to +5dB (same for Aux1 and Aux2)
  • Pan curve: -100dB to -3dB (Center)
  • All inputs and outputs are in phase
  • -20dB high pass filter at 1.3Hz

How To Use

Interface

  • INPUTS: IN LEFT is internally wired to IN RIGHT.
  • GAIN: Each channel has a gain trim range of -12dB to +20dB, making it easy to use with line level devices.
  • GAIN CLIP LED: Lights red 1dB before the input stage clips.
  • LVL FADER: Smooth, intuitive curves make it easy to adjust mix levels. There is a yellow indicator to show the level.
  • MUTE: Press the white button to soft mute the channel and the red LED indicator will illuminate.
  • PAN: When the toggle switch is set to PAN mode, the P/XF pot adjusts panning.
  • X-FADE:When the toggle switch is set to X-FADE, the P/XF pot mixes the left and right inputs and sends them as a mono signal to the center of the mix bus.
  • LVLCV: This toggle switch is normally down in SUM mode. When switched up, the fader becomes an attenuator for the CV jack. This is useful if you want to use the fader as a VCA instead of a mix.
  • AUX1: This stereo send is always post-pan/fader. CV is added to the pot.
  • AUX2: This stereo send is switchable post-pre-fader and can be used in SUM or VCA mode.
  • CUE: If you hold down the CUE button and press a channel button, the green CUE LED will light and this channel will be routed to the stereo CUE bus.
  • BY BUS: Hold down the BUS button and press the white channel button, the BUS LED will have 3 states. OFF - Routing to master mix only, BLUE - Routing to both master and bus mix, PURPLE - Routing to bus mix only.
  • AUX RET: Stereo input mixed before master insert effects loop. You can input one stereo pair of AUX send effect returns.
  • BY BUS: Stereo output of secondary routing bus.
  • AUX1 / AUX2: Two bus stereo outputs.
  • MASTER INSERT: Main mix stereo send and return. Used for master effects.
  • MIX IN: Stereo input summed after master insert.
  • MSTR OUT: Stereo balanced output. This is the master output. Behind the panel is a 1-pin header for connecting to the Intellijel's balanced 4/6-inch output via a ribbon cable.
  • METER: LED VU meters indicate the level of the final mixing bus before the master pots.
  • CUE/MIX: Control the headphone mix. CCW is cue bus, CW is main mix bus.
  • PHONES LEVEL: This is the level of headphones. The headphone output jack is located on the far left side of the PM MKII.

Firmware update

The Performance Mixer MKII has a microSD memory card slot for firmware updates.
The SD card is only used to load new firmware, and if you leave it in the device, it will try to update the firmware every time you turn it on.Please always remove the SD card before use.

Recommended memory cards
The microSD memory card must be SanDisk SDHC type 8-32GB. Other brands and types are not supported.
The tested memory cards are as follows:
