Xchangr is a low-noise interface for inputting and outputting audio signals between stereo pedals and Eurorack systems. With 2 outputs (SND) and 1 input (RCV), Xchangr has 3 stereo channels each with a 12dB or 18dB boost/cut setting switch.Audio signals can be exchanged at appropriate levels according to the equipment used, such as digital pedals and line-level processors.
top twoSNDThe sections are identical, attenuating stereo pedals, and a pair of 3.5mm input jacks that feed into line-level processors. Each of the two sections features a 2-position switch for selecting attenuation from -12dB or -18dB.The right input is normalized to the left input, so the right SND output (2/1 inch) will also output the left signal if there is no input.
Of the lowerRCVA section amplifies the gain of the 1/4" input pair to bring external audio back to Eurorack levels. This section also has a switch to select the amount of amplification from +12dB or +18dB. As with the SND section, the right input is normalized to the left input, so the right RCV output (3.5mm) will also output the left signal if there is no input.
When connecting with stereo pedals, you can leave one SND pair on the module for parallel processing or as an additional line output to a mixer, interface or amplifier.
The ±18dB setting is suitable for hi-fi pedals, and the ±12dB setting is suitable for rack processors and line level equipment.
Xchanger's connections are AC-coupled specifications designed for audio signals. This means that no control voltage can pass through the module and any DC offset is removed.
Each of the two SND section inputs uses a 2st order low pass filter just above 25kHz to attenuate any high frequency noise such as EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) present in the signal. It also passes through a 1Hz high-pass filter before being output to remove DC offsets from the signal.
Each input of the RCV section is rumble filtered at 5Hz to reduce unwanted low frequency noise before being amplified to Eurorack levels.
This filtering section combined with low noise buffering ensures that only the desired portion of the signal is processed and returned. This provides clean, distortion-free external stereo effects processing.
All 1/4 inch input/output jacks on the module are TS unbalanced, monaural connections.
