MUSICAL FEATURES

Intellijel Shifty is a voice allocation module that allows you to assign pitch CV / gate sequences from one sequence to several voices. Also equipped with a shift register mode, you can perform pitch allocation different from the voice allocation mode.

Voice allocation modeWill sample the value of the CV input each time the gate is input and will assign that CV value somewhere in the output where no CV is currently assigned. If the gate inputs continue, all four CV outputs are allocated. When the gate is subsequently input, one of the CV outputs will be replaced by the new input CV, and the gate signal of the same channel will be output at that moment (same length as the input gate). Which CV output is replaced can be set by the ORDER switch. Depending on the switch, you can use 4 or 1 outputs instead of 4 outputs, and even with 3 outputs you can make very interesting voicing by devising the tone of each voice.

Shift register modeNow, each time the gate is input, the current CV output is moved to the next, and the gate is output from each output every time. It's also useful for creating chords from harmonic sequences (starting with a pentatonic note sequence creates a relatively beautiful chord).

The basic usage is to put the pitch CV from your sequencer or keyboard into CV IN and patch the gate to the gate input. Use the gate signal output from each channel to patch the envelope and pitch CV of the voice you want to use to the 1V / Oct input of the voice. Up to four voices can be layered and sounded from one note sequence.
