Frap Tools G is a group module that plays a central role in CGM (Creative Mixer Series).This stereo module blends signals from up to eight linked channel modules and handles their routing.The power of this unit is supplied from the Channel or Stereo Channel module via the ribbon cable.
HOW TO USE
The Group practices all the information, volume, effect send levels, and stereo panning defined by the channel controls.The module consists of three sections: Amplitude Control (white) and two effect send / return (yellow and green).It takes the signals of the channels and their effects returns and sends the mixed signal to the Master module (if present) and its group outputs.
Amplitude Control
The main control of the G is the large Group knob at the bottom of the module, which sets the final amplitude of the group.This is the overall amplitude setting for the total of connected channels and return signals.Also, mount a pair of LEDs on the left and right of the knob to indicate the clipping of the corresponding left and right channels.
Effect Send / Return
This section is the CGM interface for processing external signals.It consists of two sections, green and yellow, each with a mono output (send) and a stereo input (return).
sends
From the send terminal, a monaural signal, which is the total of the signals processed for the send by each channel connected to the group, is output.
Returns
The return section is divided into yellow and green, left and right.The top two jacks are each semi-normalized return inputs, acting as stereo if the two cables are patched, and dual mono if only one of the inputs is patched. When patching two cables and using them as a stereo return, the top jack handles the left channel signal and the bottom jack handles the right channel signal.Each return section implements the same dedicated stereo VCA as the red, yellow, and green ones in the Channel module (C).Use the small return level knob to control the effect return amplitude.The return level can also be controlled by CV via the jack above the knob, allowing you to create creative stereo effect returns.The assumed CV range is 2-2V or 2-2V, and if the CV is patched, the return level knob will act as a CV attenuator.
Group Output
All groups have two Group Outputs that are a stereo pair.You can change these in the jumper settings on the back of the module to output the sum of the processed signals from the threreo return or the overall sum of the channels and effects.In the first mode, the sum of the two effect returns is output.This mode is useful for further processing the effect. The second mode outputs the sum of all channels and the yellow and green effect returns, the same signal sent to the master module. The Group module can also be used as a final mixer, making it a particularly useful mode for small setups that omit the Master module.To set the module to the first mode, set the two jumpers to the first and second pins from the left, and to set the second mode, set the jumpers to the second and third pins.The signal sent by the ribbon cable to the master module is not affected by these jumper settings.Also, be careful not to set the jumper in a different combination or location than described above.Failure of the module due to improper use is not covered by the warranty.
Creative functions
All groups have three creative controls:

Group Mute: Mute the entire group, including effect send / return. This is the same function as squeezing the Group knob to the minimum value.

Safe Solo: Isolate specific channels in the mix and mute all remaining channels.This function is achieved by pressing the "Solo in Place" button on the Channel module and moving the "Safe Solo" switch on the Group module. The "Solo in Place" button determines which channel to solo (indicated by the white LED) and which channel to mute, and the "Safe Solo" switch puts this selection into action (the Group side is also indicated by the white LED). ..It is called Safe Solo because you can safely select the channel you want to solo in advance without affecting the performance in progress.

PFLs: By pressing the stereo PFL button, you can pre-listen to a group while it is muted or when the Group knob is set to the minimum value.To take advantage of this feature, the group must be connected to the PFL of the master module.
