Random*Source Serge Variable Bandwidth Filter (VCF2)

¥64,900 (Tax excluded ¥59,000)
Serge's traditional serial SVVCF with a new CV routing switch

Format: Eurorack
Width: 18HP
Depth: 30mm
Current: 45mA @ + 12V, 45mA @ -12V, 0mA @ + 5V

To protect the original signal voltage range of Serge, the signal handled by Random * Source Serge is smaller than the standard Eurorack module, which is 5V at Peak to Peak. It's not as small as the line level, but if you want to use it with another company's product, pass it through a signal booster or attenuator if necessary.

MUSICAL FEATURES

The Serge Variable Bandwidth Filter (VCF2) is a classic and rare filter module in the Serge system that offers a unique combination of two filters. With a bandpass output that can be controlled manually or by voltage, the VCF2 is a standard response synthesizer VCF used in many studio systems.

In VCF2, two state variable filters connected in series

  • High pass
  • Lowpass x2 (Low1 & 2)
  • Fixed bandwidth output x2 (High & Low)
  • Variable bandwidth output x1 (Var Width)

Produces 6 outputs. The cutoff frequency of each output is determined by the FREQ and BWIDTH controls. For example, Low1 and low in the fixed band are cut off at the frequency specified by FREQ, and the frequency determined by Low2 and high-pass FREQ + BWIDH is the cutoff. The variable bandwidth output mainly passes frequencies between FREQ? FREQ + BWIDTH.

All these outputsNo resonanceBecause of its flat response, it is suitable for sound processing that does not introduce timbre-resonant coloring.

Designed under Serge's license, the Eurorack version implements a new switch that determines whether CV control routing is applied to the first (left) only, second (right) only, or both filters. And offers acoustic options that go beyond the original version.
