MUSICAL FEATURES

The Dual Borg is a dual filter with different types of filters, Borg I on the left side and Borg II on the right side, influenced by two processor modules, the Buchla 292 Low Pass Gate and the Korg MS20 filter. BorgI is also more suitable for a smooth and bongo-like LPG sound, and BorgII is also characterized by a slightly more dirty and resonant filter character. By removing the jumper on the back of the board, each filter can make the resonance even louder.

Dual Borg's filter is based on Bactrol on both sides, so it can be used as a Low Pass Gate, or it can work as a 20dB filter influenced by the MS12 resonance character. Each channel also has a button to switch between VCA mode and filter mode. The Key input corresponds to the so-called strike input, and the EXT input becomes a CV with attenuator to the FREQ control. By turning the FREQ knob all the way to the left and inserting an AD envelope etc. into the Key input, it can be used as a low pass gate, creating a percussive sound with a unique decay.

The Dual Borg can be patched to the input and output, and the routing can be switched in various ways by the serial / parallel connection changeover switch located at the bottom.
  • Serial Mode: When the switch is set to serial mode, the inputs to Input 1 and Input 2 are mixed and output the same signal from Outputs 1 and 2 through two filters connected in series with Borg 2 → Borg 1.
  • Parallel Mode: If you set the switch to parallel mode, and if either input 1 or 2 has an input, you can patch either output 1 or 2 to get the mixed output of the sound that passed through Borg 1 and the sound that passed through Borg 2. If both Outputs 1/2 are patched, you can get the sound from the Borg1 input and the sound from the Borg2 input. If both Inputs 1 and 2 have inputs, Out 1 will hear the sound from Input 1 passed through Borg1, and Out 2 will hear the sound from Input 2 passed through Borg2.
