MUSICAL FEATURES

Amnis is a shift register with unique features.Amnis is versatile as a generative sequencer that generates gates and CVs, a tunable noise source, a random gate/CV generator, or as the heart of a chaotic system.

Amnis requires two input signals to operate, 'clock' and 'data', and almost any signal can be used as data. From these two signals, Amnis generates 2 gate outputs, always clocked together, from which 2 stepped CVs and 8 slewed CV are derived.

If the XOR input is not used, the input signal to data is sampled at the moment the clock is received, converted to ON/OFF of the gate, and output from Gate1.The next time the clock is received, the output of Gate1 is transferred to Gate2, and Gate1 outputs the newly sampled Gate ON or OFF.In this way, a circuit that samples data at each clock and moves the output to the nextShift registerIt is called.

In addition Amnis has aXOR inputhave. When patched here, the result of multiplying the XOR and DATA inputs to the XOR circuit will be input to the shift register. This turns the shift register into a shift register with linear feedback and outputsrandomness, loopIt is possible to have performance. For example, the core circuit 'Rungler', which is the source of randomness in Rob Hordijk's 'Benjolin' and 'Blippoo Box', can be reproduced using Amnis and any oscillator. The expansion port on the back of the module is also compatible with 'Turing Machine' expanders.

A - clock input Clock the shift register.Comparator-based input with a threshold of approximately 2.5V.

B - Reset input Empties the shift register when a high signal is input.Comparator-based input with a threshold of approximately 2.5V.It is then converted from Gate to Trigger.

C - data input Send a value to a shift register.Comparator-based input with a threshold of approximately 2.5V.

D - XOR input Second input for dual input.Comparator-based input with a threshold of approximately 2.5V.

E-CV Odd Binary interpretation of the result from the odd gate output is output as CV. It is in the range of 2-0V.

F-CV Even Result from even gate outputis interpreted in binary and output as CV. It is in the range of 2-0V.

G-CV All Results from all gate outputsis interpreted in binary and output as CV. It is in the range of 2-0V.

H-CV Slew A CV output that is a smoothed stepped voltage derived from the CV All output, ranging from approximately 0-5V.

I-Gate Outputs Individual gate outputs for each bit of the shift register, 0-8V range.
