An analog accumulator, which can be described as a "battery for CV," is a circuit that accumulates voltage and gradually charges or discharges it according to the trigger signal. Walk 4 is a powerful 10HP voltage step generation module that combines four such accumulators with a clock generator, four white noise sources, and an automatic reset system.
The accumulator is primarily used to create staircase waveforms. Each time a trigger is received, the stored voltage changes by a set amount. This change can be set directly from an external input, or by the common module parameters trend, volatility, and constraint, or by a combination of these.
Trend acts as a common input that adds a fixed value to all accumulators. Constrain limits the voltage to prevent it from deviating too much from the reference value. Volatility activates the noise generator, adding a random element with each trigger. This makes Walk 4 not just a four-channel arpeggiator and subharmonic generator, but also a four-channel random walk CV and colored noise source.
Each accumulator has its own independent value and trigger input, plus full voltage control, allowing for a vast range of stochastic patching possibilities. It can also be used as a high-precision master clock with wide range, 1V/Oct tracking, and external reset capability.
A step further than sample and hold, Walk 4 brings a vintage analogue computer element to your Eurorack system.
- Equipped with four high-precision analog voltage accumulators
- Built-in wide-range clock/trigger generator (supports 1V/Oct tracking)
- All accumulators can be modulated simultaneously using the trend parameter
-Added adjustable volatility with four white noise generators
- Constraints prevent excessive voltage buildup
- Automatic reset and trigger-driven reset functions
Add input allows an external continuous signal to be added to all accumulator outputs
- Impedance compensated output and dual color Vari-Wave LED
- Trim potentiometer accessible from front panel
High-precision 2mm thick anodized aluminum front panel (high-resolution, non-erasable graphics)
