ALM Busy Mum M8

The Mum M8 is a low-pass filter with VCA that has a unique and fat sound that is expanded based on the filter that was installed in the sampler classic Akai S950. This filter has a unique smooth tone and is very effective not only for ordinary synths but also for sound sources with complex frequency configurations and movements.

There is one input with gain adjustment and one input with unity gain, and the input with gain adjustment also functions as a VCA. In addition to the knob, the cutoff control has one FM input with and without FM input. Resonance can also be controlled by CV.

In addition to the smooth core characteristics of the base S8, the Mum M950 is also good at dirty acid sounds, as it has added resonance and input overdrive. Like the S950, the analog filter core is controlled by a high-speed digital clock to create a unique smooth texture, but the cutoff lower limit is limited to cut clock noise. A trimmer on the back of the board can adjust this limit.

UK artist Mumdance, who goes back and forth from bass music to experimental, also cooperates in the development.
