MUSICAL FEATURES

Gx is an expander that adds eight gate / trigger outputs to Metropolix. It acts as a transport control, stage-by-stage gate, and mod lane clock output. As for the hardware of the companyQxQx can be used for the same purpose because it is the same as and only the panel is different.

HOW TO USE

Use the 6-pin I2C connector on the back of the module to connect to Metropolix. To set the function of 8 outputs of GxOTHERHold down the button and hold the 6th STAGE button[MX]Click.Add selectable gate, clock, reset, and run outputs via this button. The MX output assign screen has two main parameters, MX EXPANDER and MX ASSIGN.

MX EXPANDER

Set the source of the gate signal sent to each output of Gx as follows.

  • Transport: When set to Transport, each output of Gx 1-8 outputs the following signal derived from the track shown on the screen. The source track can be set from MX ASSIGN.
  1. Run --follows the screen's track assignment
  2. Reset (First Pulse)-  follows the screen's track assignment
  3. / 1 Clock
  4. / 2 Clock
  5. / 4 Clock
  6. / 4 Clock (+2 offset added)
  7. / 8 Clock
  8. / 16 Clock
  • Mod Clocks: When set to Mod Clocks, Gx outputs 1-8 follow the 8 Mod Lane Clocks set in the CLOCK DIV parameter on the DIV screen.
  • Stage number: When set to Stage Num, each output of Gx sends a high gate signal during playback of the corresponding stage of the track selected with the MX ASSIGN parameter. These gate outputs are not affected by the Metropolix gate length setting. This allows you to trigger external events that occur only during playback of a particular stage. When the sequencer is stopped and Loopy is enabled, each Gx output outputs an independent Stage Gate by playing the STAGE button using Loopy's Stage Player function.
  • Mod Stage Number: When set to Mod Stage Num, each output of Gx sends a high gate signal during playback of the corresponding stage number on the Mod Lane selected with the MX ASSIGN parameter. These gate outputs are not affected by the Metropolix gate length setting. This Mod Stage Num setting allows you to trigger external events in sync with a particular stage number in any mod lane.
  • Tip: When Mod Lane is muted, the MX Mod Stage gate is also muted.

    MX ASSIGN

This parameter displays the track number (or Mod Lane) that is the source of the Gx output. To set, press the encoder to enable the parameter (next to the MX ASSIGN parameter value)(Mark display), turn the encoder to select the source, then click the encoder again to apply the selection. The parameter labels and selection options change as follows, depending on the selection in the MX EXPANDER parameter.

    • MX EXPANDER= Transport or Stage Num: Select the track that will be the source of Gx output by turning the encoder when the MX EXPANDER parameter is enabled.
    • MX EXPANDER= Mod Stage NumBy turning the encoder when the: MX EXPANDER parameter is enabled, you can select which of the eight Mod Lanes will be the source of the Gx output.
    • MX EXPANDER= Mod Clocks: The MX ASSIGN value is fixed at 1-8, and each clock from the Metropolix's eight Mod Lanes is assigned to each Gx output (using the CLOCK DIV setting selected on the DIV screen for each lane).

Tip: Trk Out SwapParametersCTRL Knobor sending us a message onAUX Input or MOD LaneIf assigned to, Gate = High will start the Track Out Swap feature and any MX TRX assignment will be'Swap'.
