MUSICAL FEATURES

Frap Tools 321 offers a variety of extremely useful features for dynamic editing and coupling of signals in any patch.Achieving scaling / phase inversion / offset / coupling with any incoming signal, this unit is designed entirely with DC coupling, so it can be used for both audio and CV. It also functions as a CV source. ??

HOW TO USE

The 321 consists of three sections with the same circuit: red, yellow, and green.

Audio and CV attenuation / amplification

The 321 features a DC-coupling amplifier that can be used to attenuate or amplify audio or CV, allowing up to 6 dB (or twice the signal level) to be added.

Inversion of phase and polarity

You can invert the phase of the audio source or invert the CV value with the Phase switch for each section.By using a combination of a switch and an attenuator instead of an attenuator, it is possible to reach exactly zero and mute the channel completely.

Positive electrode and negative electrode offset

The offset section can convert a unipolar signal to a bipolar signal and vice versa by performing a DC offset addition or subtraction to the incoming signal.A dedicated switch is also implemented, and the offset can be completely disabled for clearer audio generation.

DC offset generation

If there is no patch for the input signal to the section, offset control can be used to generate a constant voltage on the positive or negative electrode. ??

Two summing methods

The two outputs at the top of the module are different types of summing outputs. The jack on the right outputs the sum of all three sections, including the offset, and the jack on the left outputs the sum of the unpatched sections on the individual outputs. You can also exclude specific sections from the left summing output by patching a dummy cable to the individual outputs.

-6dB summing attenuation

The two summing outputs feature a -2dB switch that halves the amplitude, which is useful when the sum of the output signals is high.
