HOW TO USE

Case Tuning

With the recent diversification of Eurorack power supplies and module options and +/- 12V power rail balance, four fully analog oscillator cores with Intervallic Offset function will be implemented.Saïch requires settings for the module to become accustomed to the new operating environment and work properly. We recommend that you perform this setting every time you change the case where you mount Saïch.
First, install Saïch on your system and wait 10-15 minutes for the system to stabilize. When the system warms up, follow these steps to tune. This tuning sets the center frequency of all detune controls, andSets the octave reference for the Intervallic Offset.A series of tunings can be completed by listening to the C5 as a reference, but it is convenient to use a digital tuner.

  1. 3 つ のDetuneSet all the knobs to the center position.
  2. CTRLSet the attenu barter and fader in the center position. At this time, make sure that the CTRL button is off.If it is lit in white or amber, press the Mix Profile button to turn it off.
  3. Voice indicatorsHold down the CTRL button for about 3 seconds until is flashing. This will enable the tuning process, with the CTRL button flashing white / amber and the fader flashing amber.
  4. Make sure the first and second Voice Indicators are lit.By moving the fader, Voice 1 and Voice 2 are crossfaded.
  5. With the fader all the way to the left, you can only monitor Voice 1. Use the Coarse and Fine knobs to play Voice 1C5Tune to (around 523.25Hz).
  6. Monitor Voice 2 with the fader all the way to the right.
  7. Use CTRL Attenu Barter to play Voice 2C5Tune to.
  8. Move the fader to the center position and make sure there is no tuning difference between Voices 1 and 2.
  9. SubWith a buttonMix ProfilePress the buttons at the same time to save the tuning. At this time, the Voice Indicators will illuminate finely to let you know that the save has been executed.
  10. CTRLPress the button and the next stepProceed to the Voice 2 octave reference.
  11. Repeat steps 5-9, but voice 2 instead of C5C6Tune to (around 1046.50Hz).
  12. Once Voice 1 and 2 have been tuned,SubWith a buttonMix ProfilePress the buttons at the same time to save the tuning.
  13. CTRLPress the button and repeat the unison and octave tuning process from Voice 3 to Voice 1 and Voice 4 to Voice 1 in the same way.You can always see the running stage in the Voice Indicators state.
  14. Once the last step (Voice 4 octave) has been saved,CTRLPress the button to return to normal mode.
Mix Profile Scan

The Mix Profiles Scan parameter isAffects Saïch's signature automated audio mixerThe macro control utilizes a digitally controlled analog VCA to control the amplitude mix between the four oscillator voices. There are 4 types of Mix Profiles that determine how to combine the output voices.Mix ProfileSelect with the button.

  1. Cascade Crossfade: If you move the fader from left to right, all voices from Voice 1 to 4 will be crossfaded one by one and will not be pronounced at the full right position.

  2. Basic VCA: Move the fader from left to right and all voices will fade in.By applying a positive voltage CV when the fader is fully to the left, all voices fade in with maximum amplitude from silence.

  3. Voice Arpeggiator: As you move the fader from left to right, each voice is isolated in ascending order of number.

  4. Voice subtraction: Moving the fader from left to right subtracts the number of voices from top to bottom. At the left full position, all voices are pronounced, and at the right full position, there is no sound.

  5. Odds to Evens: As you move the fader from left to right, odd-numbered voices (1 and 3) crossfade to even-numbered voices (2 and 4).

  6. Smart Pairs: When the fader is in the center position, all 4 voices will sound. If you move the fader to the left, Voices 1 and 2 will crossfade to Voices 1 and 4, and will fade out to silence at the full left position. If you move the fader to the right from the center position, Voices 2 and 4 will crossfade to Voices 2 and 3 and will fade out to silence at the full right position.

  7. Constant Root: As you move the fader from left to right, the Mix Profile crossfades with Voice 1 & 2, 1 & 3, 1 & 4 and back to 1 & 2.

TIP: To quickly return to Cascade Crossfade in Mix Profile 1,Hold down the Mix Profile button and press the Sub button. At this time, if you press the Sub button multiple times while holding down the Mix Profile button, you can repeatedly select the Mix Profiles 1 to 7 above in the reverse order.
Intervallic Offsets

CTRLButtonWhiteFaders of Voice 2, 3, 4 when illuminated bySet the Intervallic Offset. When the fader is set to the full left position, all 4 voices are set to unison.Moving the fader to the right introduces a combination of unison, octave, perfect fourth, and perfect fifth while maintaining the interval between each voice. At this time, the fader LED momentarily turns off at the timing of the Intervallic Offset change to notify the change. Variations on the Intervallic Offset are divided into three groups.

  • When the fader is in the leftmost position,The Intervallic Offset setting sets all 4 voices to unison (no offset).
  • Move the fader to the right to toggle between 6 different Intervallic Offsets.
  • These six variable elements repeat two more times as the interval pattern rotates around Voices 6, 4, and 3.
  • It should be understood that the results of the variable element 2 groups are equivalent when there is no input of different 3V / Oct signals to the respective 4V / Oct inputs of Voice 1, 1 and 3.
  • When using harmon à ig, the Intervallic Offsets are diatonic tension because the 3 groups of variable elements rotate at full pitch (4 degrees, 5 degrees and octaves) over all variations of the Intervallic Offset.

The table below shows how each voice changes as you move the fader from left to right.

  • 8va = one octave above Unison
  • P5 + = a perfect fifth above Unison
  • P4- = Perfect fourth below Unison

Global Detune

CTRLButtonDark blueWhen the Intervallic Offset is already set in the illuminated state, move the fader from left to right to control the overall detune of each voice from unison to a widely dispersed position. It is important to understand that Global Detune must be set to a value higher than 0 in order to apply the Intervallic Offset.
Similarly, the Intervallic Offset should be set to something other than unison for Global Detune to be effective. For example, when the Intervallic Offset is set to Unison, Global Detune does not spread voicing.

Diatonic Mode

Diatonic Mode isIt is a mode like the "hidden function" of Saïch. When Diatonic Mode is active, the module will automatically tune the Intervallic Offset for each voice to generate a harmonic 7th code. This ability Similar to when harmon à ig is set to fully chromatic Ionian or Iorian mode.
To enable Diatonic Mode, when the CTRL button is lit white and the Intervallic Offset parameter is assigned to the faderCTRLHold down the buttonMix ProfilePress the button. The CTRL button changes to white and amber illumination, indicating that Diatonic Mode is active.

During Diatonic Mode:

  • The input signal to the Voice 1 1V / Oct input determines the route of the code.
  • The input CV to each 2V / Oct input of Voice 3, 4 and 1 is added as a diatonic pitch offset.
  • Code quality is determined by the input CV to the CTRL CV input.
  • When the CTRL attenuverter is at its maximum, the CTRL CV input tracks 1V / Oct and the available chord quality is diatonic ionian mode (major scale).
  • When the CTRL attenuverter is at its minimum, the CTRL CV input tracks 1V / Oct and the available chord quality is diatonic iorian mode (natural minor scale).
  • Faders control the spread of chord voicing.
  • By moving the fader from left to right, you can switch voicing from closed to drop XNUMX, drop XNUMX, and open.
